There's some fabulous things that you know you would love to spread the word of their charm, but risk the possibility of those things being 'temporarily' loaned to your friends... and a risk that they will never be returned. Well, Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser (Net Wt. 1.7 oz 50g, $64, Made in Japan) is one of those highly raved products.
Taken from the Nordstrom page here:
Just Skin is a lightweight tinted moisturizer with a non-toxic mineral sunscreen and a new complex of botanicals that delivers protection from free radicals, smog and sun. Designed for women and men, this unique skin perfecter provides excellent coverage, smoothes fine lines, protects and enhances the complexion. Just Skin's anti-irritant, antioxidant and anti-pollution botanical extracts include honeysuckle, edelweiss and green tea. Sodium hyaluronate helps to seal in skin's moisture. The result is a clean and natural finish.
I have mine in the shade Nude (there are a total of 6 shades), which has a perfect slight yellow-toned base for NC25-NC30. Nude is slightly darker for me right now, so I would go for 'Bliss' for anything as light as NC20.
I picked mine up from Hong Kong at Lane Crawford. You can also purchase yours from SpaceNK, Nordstrom, and most major US retailers. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share my thoughts on this lovely Sunday (the first Sunday I have which I don't have work events).
The tube nozzle is small enough to control the amount of product you squeeze out. The tinted moisturiser is creamy to the touch and has a consistency of a thick cream foundation. My skin drinks this up instantaneously when applying it on. To me, it feels like skincare with the added tint, and this is most evident on the finish on the skin. It's neither matte/satin nor does it sit on the skin like most heavy moisturisers. Somehow it gives a nice hydrated finish, giving your complexion a slight dewiness. The shade I have here leans more yellow, as you will see in pictures later on.
I would say it's great for those who's still in the heat of the summer and transitioning to the cooler autumn months.
Now for a demonstration on how it looks on me.
The finish is slightly dewy and helps cover all uneven patches.
Here's a close up to show this slight dewiness.
In terms of longevity, Chantecaille 'Just Skin' Tinted Moisturiser lasted on me for about 4-5 hours in this humid climate. A sweep of loose powder is enough to keep the product in place, and possible a few touch-ups during the day. Overall, the results are beautiful.
Today's look features a veil of Chanel Poudre National Finish Loose Powder in 25 Peche Clair, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl lightly dabbed along my upper cheek bones and a brush of MAC Instant Chic Sheertone Blush.
Fittingly, I have on MAC Politely Pink on my lips, a glimmering nude light pink.
I have since purchased quite a few things from Chantecaille. So far, the whole brand exudes a softness, a class that you would find in brands like Chanel or Cle de Peau.
In my field of work, meeting clients and physicians, require me to keep my colours soft and conservative. At the same time, I work on average 60 hours a week, so products that can withstand those hours are important features for me. Eg, I lean towards bases that give me skincare benefits + coverage all in one.
Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser is a safe bet if you're looking for that too.
I hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday and thanks for reading!
