Dior Pearl Glow Quint - 2nd thoughts, is it worth your moolah?

Hi everyone! I must apologize for the lack of posts lately. I've just arrived back from Jakarta just 2 hours ago and I tried to take photos while the sun is out. I heard that Singapore has been blazing hot the last few days at 35-36 degrees celsius. Anyway, I just wanted to update you on my second thoughts on the Dior 5-Couleurs Quint in Pearl Glow which is part of the Spring 10 collection. I've been using this daily for about a week, and I can honestly say that I only used 3 shades, which are the purple, blue and beige.

My first impressions on this palette was all positive. It was my second palette from Dior and was sucked into the whole lacey patterns and beautiful contrasting colours. But alas, I found some of the shades not showing it's true shades on the lid. The silvery and pink shades are almost similar. I supposed I paid $93 for 3 shades that I liked which are all on the left side of the quint.

So without further ado, I wanted to show you another EOTD using this palette. I used only 3 shades, that is the beige (bottom left), blue (center) and purple (upper left).

1. Used P&J Eye Gloss in 03 to cover the lid, a lilac shade with plenty of shimmer...

2. I then used the beige colour from the Dior quint halfway on my lashline...

3. Then I packed on the blue shade on the middle of my lid...

4. Then I placed the purple shade on the outer corner of my eye. Placed the same shade sequence on my lower lash line...

5. Blend!

6. Coated my lashes with One coat of YSL mascara and lined my eyes with MAC Blitz & Glitz Fluidline...

Finished!
I still like this palette. It offers some beautiful spring shades, that is neither the typical pink and light green shades which we saw from the Guerlain Spring 09 collection. As usual, Dior loves to incorporate shimmer and purple. Purple seem to go well with darker hair... Not with my current hair colour, IMO. And... I do think that this EOTD will look beautiful with a flowery dress! :)

Braces galore! haha! I'm really pleased with the results by the way... My teeth is looking better by the day!

Here's all the stuff I used for today's EOTD...

Ah, thx for sharing the second opinion, because what the color that I actually found prettiest int he palette was the pink T_T But so often pink eye-shadows just don't work well!

If I may ask, could you share were you got your braces done? I am looking into getting them for myself, but not sure were to go..

Shilka: I did my braces with Dr. Linda Chew at Universal Dental Group at Toa Payoh. She's very popular, and often booked out. Prices are reasonable too. My other choice was Specialist Dental Group but their charges are horrendous! Be prepared to have difficulty eating in the first month.

Thx for the info! :D Well, maybe difficulties in eating wouldn't be bad... maybe I lose some weight? ;)

I use the most, 3 colors at a time. Beige and silver....almost always, and pink, the less frequent. Blue and purple more for the outer corner and crease.

Yeah, very disappointed in the pink hey...
But I agree, the blue and purple is great for the crease.
